How long are physical therapy sessions?

Adult physical therapy sessions are typically a full 60 minutes, one-on-one with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. Pediatric sessions are generally 30-45 minutes depending on the child's age, needs and tolerance.

There is no on-size-fits-all schedule. Many patients begin with physical therapy 1-2 times per week, but frequency is individualized based on your condition, goals, progress and schedule. Because each session is a full 60 minutes of focused, one-on-one care, our patients often require fewer visits overall than they might in a traditional physical therapy setting.

Do you accept insurance?

Rehab it is an out-of-network physical therapy practice. As a courtesy, we verify your out-of-network benefits before your first visit and submit claims to your insurance company on your behalf. Coverage and reimbursement vary by plan, and our team will help you understand your benefits before getting started.

We submit claims directly to your insurance company. Depending on your plan, reimbursement may be sent directly to Rehab It or to you. Your specific benefits and financial responsibility will be reviewed with you before treatment begins.

Do I need a Doctor's referral?

Connecticut allows qualified physical therapists to evaluate and treat patients through direct access without a physician referral, subject to certain requirements and expectations. Some insurance plans may still require a referral for reimbursement, so we recommend confirming your individual benefits.
